Interested in obtaining your USPA “B” License?
Are you interested in obtaining your USPA “B” License? If so, then you have to complete Water Training and Skydive Kentucky will soon be offering that training.
In order to obtain your “B” License you must be educated on landing in water with a parachute.
But why do I have to jump in a pool with a parachute?
Becoming an experienced and safe skydiver requires that we learn how to navigate various landings. While you may not ever land in water in a real jump, we want our jumpers to be properly trained if the situation ever presented itself.
You may consider yourself to be an excellent swimmer, but landing in water with all your gear definitely presents challenges. We want our jumpers to be prepared and well trained. If you are interested in Water Training please let us know by contacting Skydive Kentucky.
How to Prepare for Jumping in Cold Weather
The temperature may not be jumping, but you still can! You don’t have to wait until the summer to jump because Skydive Kentucky is open all year long. The changes in temperature provide a unique jumping experience, but it does require a bit more preparation.
Of course, you will want to wear pants and a long sleeve shirt, but avoid wearing hooded sweatshirts. The hood on the sweatshirt could blind your tandem instructor (and you definitely don’t want that to happen). We also recommend wearing leather gloves. You want gloves that will provide protection, but still allow you to grip and feel your equipment.
As you can imagine, jumping in the winter is cold so be prepared and ready. But if you want to wait until the temperatures warm up you can go ahead and buy a gift certificate now for yourself or a loved one. By purchasing a gift certificate you’re taking the first step into checking skydiving off your bucket list. We hope to see you soon!
